To bypass the parking brake disconnect: (this is normally used to test the holding power of the parking brake, it should not move in 3rd gear if it is adjusted properly ) Posted 23:10 (#5153928 - in reply to #5152260) Subject: RE: Case 521D Parking Brake won't disengage to allow shuttle shift You need enough pressure in the service brake accumulators to turn of the warning lights before the park brakes will release, my 721D is getting glitchy and it seems related to getting enough service brake pressure to tell the park brake to release, sometimes a sharp stab on the brakes will get it to go. Could be that you need to build a certain pressure in the break circuit to release the safety to allow shuttle to shift. Will get one of those to assist in times like this, but wondering if anyone else has seen this and knows where I should look. I do not have a CASE commercial dealer close by, and also don't have a service manual.
I assume I have a sensor failure, but have tested a couple of sensors on the block under the brake pedal, and not found an obvious problem. It simply won't allow the shift to happen on the shuttle. So even though the light is on, the brake is not holding the loader. It should be noted that the parking brake has been getting out of adjustment lately, and hasn't been grabbing very tight. Currently, no matter what is done, the parking brake light won't go out off the dash, and the transmission will not shift. With this loader, the service brakes must be activated before one can shift the shuttle forward or reverse. Have a 2003 521D Wheel Loader that will not shift into gear.
